Conference Saturday to develop relationships between African American/ Latino

 

6TH ANNUAL AFRICAN AMERICAN/LATINO CONFERENCE

 

 

WHO:               SHERIFF LEE BACA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT; KAREN BASS, CALIFORNIA STATE ASSEMBLY SPEAKER; AND BISHOP EDWARD TURNER, HOPE FOR LIFE FOUNDATION.

 

WHAT:  THIS CONFERENCE HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED TO BRING DIALOGUE AND DEVELOP RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN LATINO AND AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITIES.  SINCE ITS INCEPTION, THE CONFERENCE HAS GROWN TO ENCOMPASS ALL ETHNICITIES AND ALL COMMUNITIES.  THIS YEAR’S DIALOGUE WILL BE CENTERED ON IMMIGRATION, EDUCATION, AND ECONOMICS.
