Alan Jackson Off in DA Fundraising Race


DEPUTY DA ALAN JACKSON RAISES OVER $100,000 IN DECEMBER
Jackson’s campaign previews its first reporting period financial numbers, collecting more than $113,000 and over $200,000 in commitments.

Los Angeles, Jan. 4 – The first candidate to file in the race for District Attorney in early December, Deputy DA Alan Jackson has collected $113,870 from more than 100 donors and secured  well over $200,000 in commitments. Jackson has shown substantial strength as a candidate with such a strong showing during a traditionally difficult month to raise funds. Jackson leads all candidates in the race by every benchmark: financial support, endorsements and prosecutorial achievements.

Alan Jackson continues his campaign’s momentum and frontrunner status with a dynamic and robust display of financial support from numerous members of the community.

Alan Jackson stated, “I am honored to have received such broad and deep support from so many in the community. Their early commitment to this campaign shows that the residents in LA County care intensely about the future of the DA’s office.”

Jackson used personal vacation time to fundraise during December showing that he approaches his candidacy much in the same way he approaches his prosecutions, with dogged determination and focus.Alan has since returned to his work managing the Major Crimes Division of the DA’s office, while carrying a full-time case load himself.


Some financial highlights include:

  • Alan Jackson collected $113,870.13 with cash on hand of $108,870.13.

  • Well over 100 donors contributed to Jackson’s early fundraising effort.

  • Jackson secured over $200,000 in commitments from donors. His fundraising base is expected to grow substantially in the coming months.

  • Most money raised out of any candidate currently running for DA.

The first financial report, which began in early December and ended on December 31st, will be filed in the coming days.

Alan Jackson has been a prosecutor in the LA County District Attorney’s office for 16 years where he has tried nearly 60 felony cases, more than half of which have been murder trials.  He spent five years prosecuting hardcore gang cases in Compton, after which he moved to the Major Crimes Division where he has led the prosecution in some of California’s highest profile cases. Prior to becoming a Deputy DA,Jackson served in the United States Air Force as a Jet mechanic. Currently, Jackson serves as the Assistant Head Deputy of the Major Crimes Division where he oversees the office’s most complex and high-profile cases.
