A new survey conducted by Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin & Metz shows L.A. City Council member José Huizar leading his opponent by 43% (58% to 15% with 27% undecided) for the March 8 City Council electio9n in LA’s Council District 14.
A memo from the polling firm is attached.
“In this anti-incumbent environment, it is extremely rare for an elected official to begin a re-election campaign with such a commanding lead,” stated Parke Skelton, consultant for Huizar. “José Huizar has very high name ID and job performance and favorability ratings that are better than 3 to 1 positive. He leads by whopping margins in every community in the District.”
“Voters know Huizar and trust Huizar,” Skelton continued “73% of voters agreed that ‘Huizar is honest, someone we can trust’ and 73% agreed that ‘Huizar gets things done.’”
Pollsters John Fairbank and Jonathan Brown commented, “With these positive core beliefs about Huizar widely held by voters, it will be extremely difficult for opponents to cut into his support in a meaningful way.”
