Controlling the Twit-Face Phenomenon

The stories of the promises and perils of the various social networking services now available to the general public come fast and furious these days:  just this week, the Department of Defense has started an effort to establish a military-wide policy on the use of social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, and the San Diego Chargers fined a cornerback for Tweeting his complaints about the quality of food at the Chargers training camp.  Can large organizations, from sports franchises to the military and Fortune 500 companies, control the new social networking phenomenon?
