Situation Summary:

At 11:42 a.m. on July 29, 2008 a 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck the southern county region. It was centered 29 miles east/southeast of Los Angeles City.

The following County Courthouses have been evacuated as a precautionary measure:

            Pomona

            Norwalk

            El Monte

            Long Beach

 

Los Angeles County ISD Administrative Headquarters at 1100 N. Eastern Ave, Los Angeles  has been evacuated as a precautionary measure; minor damage report; still assessing.

 

Pomona City Hall has been evacuated; still assessing damage.
