Angels Baseball to visit Frank Del Olmo

Elementary School in Los Angeles

 

What:              Angels Baseball and Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich will team up with Department of Mental Health, Los Angeles Unified School District and A World Fit For Kids in highlighting for 100-inner-city boys and girls the importance of taking care of their physical health and nutritional habits that will in turn promote positive mental health wellness. The visit is in support of national Children’s and Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.

Angels Baseball is teaming up with Supervisor Antonovich, Department of Mental Health and A World Fit For Kids in support of physical education and nutritional programs at local schools throughout Southern California. The visit will also honor the physical education program A World Fit For Kids, a nationally recognized non-profit organization that is making a difference in the lives of inner-city children and young people. A World Fit For Kids provides after-school physical fitness activities and youth development programs for children and teens. The non-profit organization was awarded the State of California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports Gold Medal (2007).

For the past fifteen years, “A World Fit For Kids” has served more than 130,000 students, successfully getting them motivated and involved in physical activities in some of the most economically challenged communities of Los Angeles.
