ANTONOVICH SECURES NEW HOME FOR

CHINATOWN SERVICE CENTER

LOS ANGELES COUNTY – In order to meet the healthcare service needs of the residents of the East San Gabriel Valley, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich’s motion to expand the Chinatown Service Center to a County-owned facility in the City of Alhambra.

Prepared to invest over $8 million in upgrades to the property, the Chinatown Service Center, a non-profit organization, will establish a multi-purpose service providing an array of health services including medical preventative services, as well as non-hospital care to families, children and the elderly.  It will also provide comprehensive case management and direct services to seniors, and business and employment training services for young people.

The County will lease the property on West Shorb Street in Alhambra to the Chinatown Service Center for 40-years, with an option to renew for two additional ten-year terms.
