NEARLY 100 HORSES FOUND STARVING AND NEAR DEATH
PRESS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Michelle Roache', Deputy Director, 562-217-1299
Pearblossum, CA – The County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control arrested Janis Damiani yesterday when nearly 100 horses were discovered starving at Equus Sanctuary located in Pearblossum, California. There was limited available water and no food available on the property. Most of the horses were in desperate need of medical treatment and care.
The Department seized all of these animals and is charging the defendant with felony animal cruelty. Veterinarians had to euthanize more than a dozen horses and are providing medical care to the others. "These horses were in desperate need of care" stated Los Angeles County Deputy Director Michelle Roache. "We are hoping to rehabilitate these horses and get them into loving homes as soon as possible" she said.
Please contact us at 562-658-2000 if you are interested in adopting or fostering any of these horses.
