ANTONOVICH CALLS FOR SUPPORT OF NATIONAL GUARD EDUCATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

LOS ANGELES COUNTY – The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich supporting Senate Bill 815 (Cogdill-R) that creates the California National Guard Education Assistance Program that helps California’s National Guard members pay university and community college tuition.

“California is currently the only state in the nation that has yet to close this gap and offer a higher education incentive to reward and retain its citizen soldiers,” said Antonovich.

To qualify for this benefit, a California National Member would be required to be a California resident and a two-year active member of the California National Guard, State Military Reserve or the Naval militia.
