Sept. 14, 2010 Agenda Highlights

Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich proposes that “business friendly principles” be part of the Southern California Association of Governments’ development of economic growth strategy.  (Item 2)

 

Board asked to approve $40,000 social program agreement to support the International Visitors Council of Los Angeles in its efforts to attract and increase the number of influential foreign visitors to the County.  (Item 13)

 

Recommendation calls for approving $1,338,000 social program agreement to benefit Homeboy Industries.   (Item 14)

 

Acceptance of $150,000 grant would allow the hiring of a consultant to advise social work staff on ways to improve the education of foster care youth. (Item 17)

 

Proposal would expand the letter-grading program to include food trucks and food carts.  (Items 24 and 38)

 

Action would approve renovation of 224-unit apartment building in Marina del Rey, extend lease for 33 years, and increase rent by at least $574,000 annually.  (Item 25)

 

$2.5 million grant would help fund $10.8 million project to replace aging restroom septic systems at Point Dume and Zuma beaches to prevent ground and coastal water contamination.   (Item 26)

 

Ordinance would establish standards for farmworker housing.  (Item 37)

 

Report scheduled on negotiations regarding ambulatory care restructuring plan.  (Item 39)
