Teenage drunk driving PREVENTION PROGRAM

 

What:

 

 

"Every 15 Minutes" Drunk Driving Prevention Program”

Every fifteen minutes, someone in the United States is injured or killed in an alcohol-related incident.  The City of Industry Sheriff Station, in conjunction with the California Highway Patrol, Office of Traffic Safety and the LA County Fire Department , is taking a proactive step in educating local high school students about making mature decisions when alcoholic beverages are involved. On May 19th and 20th , 2009 the Industry Sheriff’s Station, in cooperation with La County Fire Department, California High Way Patrol and various city, county, state and local community groups will host a program called Every 15 Minutes at Los Altos High School.

 

Every 15 Minutes is a two-day program involving high school junior and seniors which encourages them to think about personal safety when alcohol is involved.  The program challenges the student body to make mature decisions and recognize that their actions affect others beside themselves.

LA Co Sheriff’s, LA Co Fire Department, CHP, LA County Coroner, AMR Ambulance, Kaiser, Program Sponsor Haddicks Tow,  in collaboration with Los Altos High School.

The “Every 15-Minutes” Program is designed to provide young adults with a realistic glimpse into the consequences of drunk driving and the damaging effects of alcohol related traffic collisions.

It is great that there are activities being enforced in this city that prevent teenage drunk driving. Hopefully other cities will do the same so that cases such as those being handled by car accident attorney Brazoria (for example) can be avoided. Thanks for sharing.
