Child support issues to be discussed at Fatherhood and Families Conference

KEYNOTES BY FEDERAL OFFICIAL AND CHILD SUPPORT DIRECTOR HIGHLIGHT THE 11TH ANNUAL NATIONAL FATHERHOOD & FAMILIES CONFERENCE IN LOS ANGELES FEB. 23-26

 

Keynote addresses by Steven J. Golightly, Director of L.A. County Child Support Services, and Carmen Nazario, Assistant Secretary for the federal Administration for Families and Children, will be part of the 11th Annual Fatherhood & Families Conference on February 23-26 in Los Angeles at the Westin LAX hotel.  The keynote addresses will highlight the morning session on Thursday, February 25 from 8:30-10 a.m.

 

L.A. County residents, social service professionals and community organizations are invited to register for the Fatherhood & Families conference which brings together people from across the country to discuss ways to improve programs for fathers and families. The conference is staged by the non-profit, Fathers & Families, Coalition of America.  Conference information can be obtained by going to www.azffc.org.

 

In addition to the keynote by Mr. Golightly, staff from L.A. County Child Support Services will participate in two key sessions on Wednesday, February 24 to educate the community about child support services.  These sessions are the Pre-Conference General Session at 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. in Grand Ballroom B and “Finding Child Support Solutions for Fathers and Families” from 3:15-5:00 p.m. in the National Room.

 

L.A. County Child Support Services assists families and children in L.A. County with free child support services including establishing, modifying and enforcing child support obligations including medical support. The Department is the largest locally-administered child support agency in the country with 425,000 cases and last year collected $500 million in support for families and children.
