That’s the advice of Donna Flagg, who reveals the dos and don’ts of giving someone the news that they’re out of a job, or confronting your boss, or telling a client you don’t like his ideas. So, take her advice, take a deep breath and dive in - you, too, can survive those dreaded conversations!

Guest:

Donna Flagg, author of “Surviving Dreaded Conversations.”  She also writes a biweekly blog on ExpertBusinessSource.com and is founder of the The Krysalis Group, a consulting firm specializing in management, marketing, training and sales.

Climbing the health care summit: President, Republicans grapple with reform

The made-for-TV health care reform summit, called by President Obama, should be wrapping up by late Thursday afternoon—while all of the combatants, from cabinet secretaries to Republican Congressional leadership and the President himself, will have had their say on the health reform debate, will we be any closer to a new policy on health care?  Probably not, but we should have a better sense of the chances for either a huge break through or more incremental legislation.  Either way the clash of ideas will be on display:  nationalized, single-payer government run insurance vs. free market reforms to allow more or more competition in the private insurance business; taxing high priced insurance plans vs. more tax credits for individuals to buy their own insurance.  Whose ideas will win out?

Guests:

Congressman Xavier Becerra, D – Los Angeles. He is Vice-Chair of the House Democratic Caucus and attended the Health Care Summit today.

WILL CALL US:

Congressman Paul Broun MD, R-Georgia’s 10th District; practicing doctor of internal medicine (he has an independent practice specializing in house calls)
