Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas proposes that chief executive officer, acting chief probation officer and Auditor-Controller’s Office review operations of the Child Abuse Special Investigations Unit, the Internal Affairs Unit, and the Probation Department to determine adequacy of investigations, methods to strengthen investigatory capacity, and protocols to prevent incidents of abuse between Probation Department personnel and minors. Approval sought to begin initiating agreements with key partners for obesity and tobacco control prevention efforts in anticipation of the County receiving $40 million grant. (Item 24, cont. from 2/16, 2/23) APPROVED
Ordinance would restrict parking at libraries to address growing concerns about loitering, overnight parking and camping, abandoned vehicles, dumping of gray water from recreational vehicles, dumping of furniture and appliances, and use as park-and-ride lots. (Item 27) APPROVED
$14.6 million proposal would fund agreement with City of Palmdale for the design/construction of a portion of the North Los Angeles County Regional Recycled Water project. (Item 33) APPROVED
