Saturday animal adoption event is one of largest of 2010

L.A. COUNTY ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL TO PARTCIPATE IN MASSIVE ADOPTION EVENT THROUGHOUT LOS ANGELES AREA 

 

The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) will be participating in one of the largest animal adoption events of 2010.  The event is sponsored by the Found Animals Foundation (www.foundanimals.org). DACC will partner with Los Angeles City Animal Services’ as well as SEAACA, who are also participating in this event. It’s our goal to find a record-breaking number of loving, permanent homes for shelter pets. The event, “Better with a Buddy,” will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010.  The event begins promptly at 9:00 AM and will last until 2:00 PM. 

 

DACC and its partnering shelters will discount all adoptions this day only. As an additional promotion, the Found Animals Foundation has offered to pay for the second adoption of any other “buddy animal”, in hopes that even more animals will find new forever homes.    

 

“Better with a Buddy” marks DACC’s second Found Animals event. The last event held in December of last year (which also included LA Animal Services and SEAACA), found homes for 440 shelter pets throughout Los Angeles County in one single day. DACC is hopeful that this event will surpass the adoption numbers from last year.
