Board asked to approve environmental impact report, site acquisition, and allocation of $7.7 million in funding for construction of a 60-unit affordable multi-family rental housing development in East Los Angeles. (Item 1-D)
Extension of $5,000 reward proposed for information leading to arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible for the murder of Marvin Lewis in front of his Compton home in 2005. (Item 5)
Extension of $10,000 reward proposed for information leading to arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible for the shooting death of Janet Altamirano and the wounding of Nadina Mercado in Willowbrook in 2006. (Item 6)
$1.25 million contract with Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation would promote economic development in the County through marketing/promotional efforts. (Item 10)
Board asked to approve agreements for transfer of courthouses in San Fernando, Downey and Glendale to the state. (Item 11)
$9 million proposal would fund additional software/services associated with upgrading County’s eCAPS accounting system for financial and human resources, including payroll and timecards, bringing total cost to $160 million. (Item 15)
Supervisors asked to approve permit for construction of 42 single-family development and park in Santa Clarita area. (Items 16, 62)
Recommendation calls for transferring responsibility of outpatient mental health services at LAC+USC Medical Center from Health Services to Mental Health Department, and offering family-focused services. (Item 22)
Two-year $25 million grant would assist County’s public health efforts in bioterrorism, outbreaks of infectious diseases and other public health threats and emergencies. (Item 24)
$100,000 proposal would fund additional architectural/design/administration services as part of the King Multi-Service Ambulatory Care Center central sterile renovation project, upping contract to $3.3 million. (Item 28)
$2.4 million proposal would enlarge debris basin and install three rail/timber structures below the burned watersheds in Sierra Madre to provide mudflow protection for residents as a result of the April 2008 Santa Anita Fire. (Item 30)
Adoption of the Upper Santa Clara River Integrated Regional Water Management Plan would encourage regional approach to water issues. (Item 32)
$15 million transmission water main project would increase the water service reliability in Lancaster. (Item 33)
$400,000 grant would fund demonstration project to obtain information on the performance of terminal blend materials in chip seal application, providing better understanding of asphalt paving products using recycled rubber; and provide improved roads in Lake Los Angeles area. (Item 34)
$28.2 million project would alleviate flooding problems in Long Beach from San Gabriel River watershed and protect residents against threat caused by 50-year flood. (Item 36)
Approval sought to spend $1.3 million to replace street/pathway/restroom lighting to improve security and reduce energy consumption at Bonelli Regional Park. (Item 42)
$13.5 million proposal would lease Helitanker firefighting aircraft for 120 days per year for five years. (Item 48)
$850,000 settlement, plus assumption of $56,294 Medi-Cal lien, proposed for medical negligence lawsuit arising from injuries sustained by patient at Dollarhide Health Center in Compton. (Item 58)
$850,000 settlement proposed for wrongful death lawsuit concerning allegation of excessive force by sheriff’s deputies during a vehicle pursuit and attempted apprehension. (Item 59)
$762,500 settlement, plus assumption of $226,237 Medi-Cal lien, recommended for medical negligence lawsuit arising from treatment received by LAC+USC Medical Center patient. (Item 60)
$595,000 settlement proposed for wrongful death lawsuit arising from medical treatment provided at the Los Angeles County Jail and LAC+USC Medical Center. (Item 61)
