Jamiel's Law: Petition Pit-Stop Coming By Walter Moore, Candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles, WalterMooreForMayor.com Great news! Talk-show host Doug McIntyre (KABC 790) just announced a special promotion to get the signatures we need to put Jamiel's Law on the ballot. He's going to set up a location or two where people on their way to work can drive up, sign the petition without leaving their car, and get back on the road. We won't top off their fuel or replace their tires, but we can give them a shiny new "Walter Moore for Mayor" bumper sticker. The petition pit-stop would take place during Doug's show, and he would broadcast from the locations. Doug and his station are also going to fly Danielle Bologna down for a press conference with the Shaw Family, to draw attention to this issue -- and our need to get 74,000 signatures on the petition. Stay tuned, and please let Doug McIntyre of KABC 790, and Kevin James and Terry Anderson of KRLA 870 know how much you appreciate their focusing on this issue. In a normal world, every newspaper, TV station and radio station would cover this story extensively. But in L.A. in 2008, these three men seem to be the only members of the media who are doing their duty. Let them know you appreciate it, would you? |
