YAROSLAVSKY ANNOUNCES SAN FERNANDO VALLEY
“GOVERNMENT DAY” EVENT FOR SATURDAY, JULY 26, 2008
Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky is inviting all interested residents to attend the Panorama Mall’s 28th Annual Government Day, sponsored for the 13th year by his office. The event will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Mall, located at the corner of Roscoe and Van Nuys Boulevards in Panorama City.
“This is a great opportunity for adults and families to learn about government and the community services that are available to them,” Yaroslavsky said, noting that federal, state, County and city agencies have mounted colorful displays and will offer attractive publications describing their programs. “Thanks again to Panorama Mall for their longstanding support and for providing our constituents with such a terrific venue.”
Yaroslavsky said that representatives from more than 45 agencies from all levels of government would meet with and provide information to the public, among them:
· Los Angeles County Department of Health Services
· Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services - enrollment for children eligible for Medi-Cal and Healthy Families programs
· Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk
· Los Angeles County Treasurer-Tax Collector
· Los Angeles County Department of Human Resources
· Los Angeles City Department of Building and Safety
· Los Angeles Valley and Mission Community Colleges
· California State Department of Motor Vehicles
· California State Employment Development Department
· Social Security Administration
