LOS ANGELES COUNTY – To ensure the health and well-being of the County’s senior population, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved Supervisor Antonovich’s motion to provide the Federal Government’s grading reports of area nursing homes on the Los Angeles County website. The motion also encourages the State to require that nursing homes post their five-star rating issued by the Federal Government’s Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to allow the consumer to make an informed decision about care.
“This vital information will equip families to make informed decisions about the care for their loved ones. It also provides incentives for facilities to establish higher quality standards and compliance,” said Antonovich.
Supervisor Antonovich is the father of the County’s successful Restaurant Grading system established in 1997.
VISUAL NOTE: The supervisor will demonstrate the website, discuss the effort to require nursing homes to post rating on site and unveil a large prototype of a sign that will be posted.
