COMPTON HAS LED THE WAY FOR THE REDUCTION IN CRIME

THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES

 

 

WHO:              SHERIFF LEE BACA, CHIEF CECIL RHAMBO AND COMMANDER KEVIN GORAN, LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT; AND

                        LOS ANGELES COUNTY SUPERVISOR MARK RIDLEY-THOMAS.

 

WHAT:            SHERIFF BACA AND SUPERVISOR RIDLEY-THOMAS WILL DISCUSS THE SUCCESSFUL AND UNPRECEDENTED REDUCTION IN VIOLENT CRIME IN THE CITY OF COMPTON AND THE SURROUNDING UNINCORPORATED AREAS.  THE HOMICIDE RATE ALONE HAS DROPPED 50 PERCENT SINCE 2005 IN THESE AREAS.  SHERIFF BACA WILL ALSO RELEASE THE COUNTYWIDE CRIME STATISTICS WHICH HAVE DROPPED 6 PERCENT.
