CRIME RATE IN THE ANTELOPE VALLEY AT LOWEST LEVEL IN SEVEN YEARS

 

 

WHO:              SHERIFF LEE BACA, CHIEF NEAL TYLER, COMMANDER CARL DEELEY, CAPTAIN AXEL ANDERSON, CAPTAIN BOBBY DENHAM, LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT; MAYOR R. REX PARRIS, CITY OF LANCASTER ; MAYOR JAMES LEDFORD, CITY OF PALMDALE; AND NORM HICKLING, FIELD DEPUTY FOR SUPERVISOR MICHAEL ANTONOVICH.

 

WHAT:            SHERIFF BACA WILL DISCUSS THE SUCCESSFUL REDUCTION IN CRIME WITHIN THE CITIES OF LANCASTER, PALMDALE AND THE SURROUNDING UNINCORPORATED AREAS.  MAYOR PARRIS AND MAYOR LEDFORD WILL ADDRESS THE KEY PROGRAMS AND PARTNERSHIPS WHICH HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THESE REDUCTIONS IN THEIR RESPECTIVE CITIES.  THESE STATIONS HAVE SEEN A 10 PERCENT REDUCTION IN OVERALL CRIME, IN ADDITION TO A 33 PERCENT DROP IN GANG-RELATED VIOLENT CRIMES THROUGHOUT AN AREA THAT COVERS 1,370 SQUARE MILES.
