AIR QUALITY ALERT:
For Saturday: Air Quality is expected to be unhealthy for all
individuals in the Santa Clarita Valley, and unhealthy for sensitive
individuals in East San Gabriel Valley, West San Fernando Valley and the
Pomona/Walnut Valley
LOS ANGELES - Air quality is expected to be unhealthy for all
individuals in the Santa Clarita Valley tomorrow, July 17, and for
sensitive individuals in East San Gabriel Valley, West San Fernando
Valley, and the Pomona/Walnut Valley, according to the South Coast Air
Quality Management District (AQMD).
Los Angeles County Health Officer and Public Health Director, Jonathan
E. Fielding, MD, MPH, advises people living or working in these areas
with heart disease, asthma or other respiratory disease to minimize
outdoor activities. Schools or youth camps that have children with
sensitive conditions, including heart disease, asthma, other chronic
respiratory diseases, should not participate in PE or outdoor physical
activity and should stay indoors as much as possible.
