Rimgrove’s National Night Out 2010
WHAT: Annual National Night Out. The public is invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the Annual National Night Out to be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Rimgrove Park. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. The 2009 Annual National Night out involved over 30 million people in 14,625 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. This year’s National Night Out is expected to be the largest ever.
In sponsorship with Target, national corporate sponsor, and the First District District Supervisor Gloria Molina, Rimgrove Park has coordinated an extraordinary evening to celebrate National Night Out. The evening will start with a community parade and continue with a live concert at the park, followed by free hot dogs and hamburgers. The park will also have information booths, game booths, face painting for children, a watermelon eating contest, a pie throwing contest, raffle prizes, giveaways and much more!
