Nov. 23 Agenda Highlights

Report scheduled on Project Labor Agreement proposed for King Medical Center construction project.  (Item S-1, 11 a.m., cont. from 11/16) 

 

Report to be given on issues relating to transition to new LAC+USC Medical Center.  (Item S-2, 11:30 a.m.)

 

Board asked to approve plan for construction of 20 fire stations and a temporary facility in future growth areas of County, to be financed by developer fees.  (Item 1)

 

Proposal would increase/add fees for:

1.      Activities affecting County roads, including permit processing/issuance and inspections, in effort to cover operating costs.  (Item 2)

2.      Activities affecting the issuance of flood hazard reports, including plan check and inspections, in effort to defray operating costs.  (Item 3)

3.      Sewer construction permits to cover costs for permit application review, processing, field inspection and procurement/preparation of record plans.  (Item 4)

 

Board considers appeal of Regional Planning Commission’s approval of plan to build 230 megawatt photovoltaic electricity power generation facility in Antelope Valley.  (Item 11,a,b,c,d,e)

 

Action would ban medical marijuana dispensaries in unincorporated areas of County.  (Item 12)

 

Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich requests extension of:

1.      $10,000 reward for information leading to arrest and/or conviction of person(s) responsible for 2009 Alhambra fatal traffic collision involving Shih-Siang Ho.  (Item 14)

2.      $20,000 reward for information leading to arrest and/or conviction of person(s) responsible for church-related arsons in Lancaster and Palmdale on Aug. 25.  (Item 15)

 

Supervisor Gloria Molina requests renaming the East Los Angeles Probation Office as the “Mary Ridgway East Los Angeles Probation Office” in honor of the 43-year veteran of the department who died in 2009. (Item 17)

 

Supervisor Don Knabe requests reinstating two $10,000 rewards in 2008 murders of two teen-agers in Long Beach to allow persons who provided information that led to suspect’s conviction to file a claim for the rewards.  (Item 18)

 

Proposals call for spending $2.9 million and $2.7 million respectively to develop comprehensive and strategic campus plans for Martin Luther King Jr. and Harbor-UCLA medical centers to more efficiently provide essential services and meet needs of community.  (Item 20 and Item 21)

 

Recommendation would refer back to the Parks and Recreation Department a 15-year license agreement proposal for operation of the Bonelli Regional Park equestrian center.  (Item 22)

 

Adoption of ordinance would ban plastic carryout bags at markets and pharmacies in unincorporated areas and require 10-cent charge for recyclable paper bags.  (Item 23)
