Molina Statement Re Whitehouse Case Conviction

District Attorney Announcement:   Two admitted gang members plead in 2006 Valinda murder.

 

POMONA (March 16, 2009) -- Two admitted gang members charged with the 2006 fatal shooting of Valinda resident Robert Whitehead who was trying to stop taggers in his neighborhood pleaded no contest today and were sentenced to 21 years in state prison.


Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina Statement

"I am proud of the Sheriff's Department and the District Attorney's Office for their work leading to the conviction of the individuals responsible for taking the life of an innocent and civic-minded resident who simply tried to stop these criminals from defacing his neighborhood with graffiti," said Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina.  "I hope that the family of Robert Whitehead can find some comfort and closure in knowing that the criminals responsible for this hideous and senseless crime are now in prison."
