JOIN FORCES IN THE "GIFTS FOR GUNS" PROGRAM
WHO: SHERIFF LEE BACA, UNDERSHERIFF LARRY WALDIE, ASSISTANT SHERIFF PAUL TANAKA, CHIEFS NEAL TYLER AND CECIL RHAMBO, COMMANDERS CARL DEELEY, KEVIN GORAN, ARTHUR NG, AND THOMAS SPENCER,
LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT, GOVERNOR ARNOLD SCWARZENEGGER, AND SUPERVISORS DON KNABE AND MARK RIDLEY-THOMAS, LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS.
WHAT: THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE OFFICE OF GOVERNOR ARNOLD SCWARZENEGGER, PRESENT THE "GIFTS FOR GUNS" PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM WILL PROVIDE A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR RESIDENTS TO SAFELY AND ANONYMOUSLY SURRENDER ANY FIREARM TO THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT IN EXCHANGE FOR A #100 GIFT CARD ($200 FOR ASSAULT WEAPONS) TO A LOCAL RETAIL STORE.
