Seymour Hersh on Pakistan nuclear warheads

Pakistan’s cooperation is integral to the war in Afghanistan, and currently, they harbor an estimated 80 to 100 nuclear warheads. Patt talks with investigative journalist Seymour Hersh about his exploration of Pakistan’s nuclear program and the U.S.’s often vain attempts and financial efforts to divert the Pakistani Army from concentrating on India, and get them to fight the Taliban.

Seymour Hersh, staff writer for The New Yorker; his article “Defending the Arsenal: In an unstable Pakistan, can nuclear warheads be kept safe?” appears in the November 16th  issue

Health care reform part I: An Armey of opposition

It’s no mystery that conservatives have been galvanized against President Obama’s efforts to reform the national health care policy, but the man behind much of the outrage and anger is himself an old soldier of D.C.’s wars.  Dick Armey’s Freedom Works was the main organizer of anti-Obama “tea parties” earlier this year and has recently turned its muscle against the Democrat-driven health care reform plan.  We hear from the man himself and whether his target is President Obama himself, health care reform or the entire liberal agenda.

Guest:

Dick Armey, former House Majority Leader (representing Texas’s 26th District); Chairman of FreedomWorks

Health care reform part II: The abortion conundrum

Abortion was a hot-button subject before it entered the health care debate; and it’s not like health care reform needed to get any more complicated or emotional.  Yet last weekend when the House passed through its version of national health care reform it contained the now infamous “Stupak amendment” that put restrictions on government funding for abortions the two incendiary topics combined into one giant political mess.  Democrats are now divided, with a group of pro-choice members who are vowing to oppose any bill that restricts abortion. We talk to the key players.

Modern Warfare 2 breaks modern records

If we’re in a global recession, Tuesday was a furlough day: overnight, Activision’s new video game, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," shattered sales records and became the biggest release of any entertainment property ever, earning $310 million in 24 hours and solidifying video games as the entertainment medium of today. Patt talks to industry insiders on how "Call of Duty" "pwned" (dominated, in gamers’ tongue) the worldwide economic decline.
