CEO’s in paycheck Siberia: Obama’s pay czar cuts compensation

The day of reckoning is coming for executives of companies that received government bailouts:  Ken Feinberg, the Obama administration’s “pay czar” will release new rulings this morning that will cap salaries of the 100-top-paid employees at six firms to $500,000.  The companies—AIG, Citigroup, GM, Chrysler, GMAC and Chrysler Finance—we’re all benefactors of taxpayer assistance and now will be forced to curtail executive compensation, much to their contempt.  Patt talks to the scariest man in the Washington who has CEO’s worried about being banished to paycheck Siberia.

Healthcare reform’s…….slow……..march……through……..Senate

U.S. Senators can never be accused of rushing through anything, but the deliberations over health care reform legislation have been especially tortured.  A compromise on health care, one that seemingly kills any chance of a sweeping public insurance option and replaces it with a large expansion of the Medicare program, has won endorsement from the White House and from the more moderate members of Congress.  Now all that’s left to do is convince bitter liberal Democrats and skeptical Republicans to sign on, but an endgame could be near.
