What: Small Business Government Contracting Workshop

 

When: December 10, 2009

Two Segments: • 8;30 - 11:30 am., Government Contracting 101

• 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Federal Government Proposal Preparations.

 

Why: Guiding attendees through the registration process for both County Webven and the Federal government CCR database and Small Business Certifications.

 

Government Contracting 101, will cover locating upcoming and past bid opportunities. Learn how to maximize opportunities by researching optional certification benefits which can be the key to success in the bidding process for small business.

 

Federal Government Proposal Preparation will instruct small business on how to review, prepare and respond to a solicitation and more.

 

Where: Arcadia Library, Cay Mortenson Auditorium, 20 West Duarte Road, Arcadia, CA 91006

 

Sponsor: County of Los Angeles, Office of Small Business (LAOSB), Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).

 

Admission is free. Space is limited, pre-registration is closed but walk-ins are welcome. 

 

Background: The County of Los Angeles Office of Small Business has been conducting these very successful workshops over the past nine years. " We are excited to have such a program that has been a major asset for small business during these difficult times in our economy" noted Debbie Cabreira-Johnson, Director, LAOSB/PTAC. She further noted that attendance this year has been at an all time high and the calendar for 2010 is under development at this time and available on www.laosb.org by December 31, 2009.  Alice Estrada, LAOSB/PTAC Program Manager stated that "Throughout the years the Office of Small Business has been playing an active role in having small business do business with Los Angeles County".
