BAPTIST GROUP PROVIDING RELIEF SERVICES TO RESIDENTS OF FIRE-RAVAGED SKY TERRACE MOBILE HOME PARK
LOS ANGELES COUNTY — California Southern Baptist Disaster Relief was commended by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich for their efforts to provide vital disaster relief services to the residents at Sky View Terrace Mobile Home Park in Sylmar who experienced devastation and loss in the Marek Fire last October.
“Providing debris removal services for victims who have no insurance or have insufficient coverage, was an extraordinary effort by a group of dedicated volunteers – some coming from as far away as Sonora, California,” said Antonovich. “The services they provide are vital to helping these residents get back on their feet.”
A ministry of the California Southern Baptist Convention, Baptist Disaster, handled fire debris removal last year in four counties with the cooperation of local agencies including Santa Cruz County, Butte County, Monterey County, and Mariposa County. Also assisting this effort were Allied Waste and Sunshine Canyon Landfill who donated bins, transportation and dump fees.
