Update to be given on transition to new County Medical Center.  (Item S-1, 2 p.m.)

 

Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich requests extension of $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible for the murder of Jerrill Dulaney in Altadena on May 9.   (Item 3)

 

Supervisor Don Knabe requests Board support for legislation supporting California’s ability to apply for $4.3 billion in federal stimulus grants designed to support educational reform within the juvenile justice system.   (Item 11)

 

$382,000 proposal would fund demolition of two deteriorated buildings, the Ruth Temple Health Center and Far East Bank building, in downtown Los Angeles.  (Item 17)

 

Approval sought to construct an equestrian facility and riding academy in Agua Dulce to provide therapeutic programs for disabled and special needs children.  (Item 21, cont. from 7/14, 8/18)

 

$2 million contract would restore/repair the Registrar-Recorder’s vital records index books pertaining to real property ownership, birth, death and marriage records. (Item 22)

 

Acceptance of $14.8 million grant would provide emergency preparedness and response to pandemic influenza outbreaks.  (Item 29)

 

Board asked to approve $45.3 million revised budget for the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall refurbishment project, and award $29.3 million construction contract to PCL Construction Services, Inc.  (Item 35)

 

Board asked to approve $322.6 million revised budget for the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center surgery/emergency replacement project, and award $170.8 million construction contract to Hensel Phelps Construction Co.   (Item 36)

 

Approval sought to construct concrete pathway, landscaping and irrigation system to beautify the western channel access path in Burbank at cost between $1.2 - $1.4 million, and set bid opening for Oct. 13.  (Item 37)

 

Supervisors asked to authorize $96,000 plus waiver of $10,350 disability claim to settle lawsuit filed by Probation Department employee Drennan Cannon in disability discrimination and retaliation case.  (Item 45, cont. from 9/1)

 

$350,000 settlement proposed in lawsuit alleging the Department of Children and Family Services wrongfully detained a newborn infant and toddler.  (Item 46)

 

$550,000 settlement, plus assumption of $73,376 Medi-Cal lien, proposed in lawsuit concerning emergency medical treatment provided by County Fire Department paramedics.  (Item 47)
