TELEVISED CALL-IN WILL PROVIDE SPANISH-SPEAKING PUBLIC WITH INFORMATION ABOUT CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES

The Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department (CSSD) will be live on Univision, KMEX-TV, Channel 34 on Tuesday, September 22 to answer questions from the public about child support issues and services.

Twenty Spanish-speaking child support professionals from L.A. County CSSD will be doing interviews and working a phone bank on the “34 A Su Lado,” (Channel 34 At Your Side) segment in Primera Edicion, Channel 34’s morning news and information program from 5-7 a.m.  The child support information call-in will continue from 7-8 a.m. on Univision’s Telefutura cable channel, Channel 46.

“34 A Su Lado” is innovative public affairs programming where a variety of service agencies appear on KMEX-TV to present information on their services and provide staff to answer questions from the public using a phone bank established at KMEX-TV.  L.A. County CSSD’s appearance is coordinated by the Department’s Communications and Marketing Division.  This is the sixth year that the Department has appeared on “34 A Su Lado.”

“We are pleased to be able to provide important information about our child support services to thousands of people in the Spanish-speaking community thru this wonderful opportunity to appear on KMEX-TV’s major programming,” said CSSD Director Steven Golightly. “We thank KMEX-TV for this great public service and I thank our dedicated staff who are part of this effort to get vital information to our Spanish-speaking customers.”
