Yeah, I’m married.  Well…..Maybe Not Technically

New Census numbers show same-sex couples in every state in the nation are reporting that they’re “married.”  Actually, more than actually are (legally) married. But hey, who’s counting? The Census Bureau for the first time in 2010 will attempt to keep track of same-sex marriages, unions, and partnerships.  The numbers could launch states into more debate over same-sex marriage and family laws.  For now, it appears some same-sex couples across the nation aren’t letting the law stop them from declaring, “We’re here, we’re queer, and …we’re married!”

Might the Steelers game be the only numbers-crunching at this G-20?

The leaders of the G-20 countries invade Pittsburgh this week, in less of a dour mood then when they last met in London in April but still very apprehensive to celebrate any kind of global economic recovery.  There are huge items on the G-20 agenda, from finance regulatory reform to managing growing budget deficits of various countries (the U.S. included).  Is there any chance of a meaningful consensus on the myriad of complicated items that face political and economic leaders?
