Permanent Change in News Conference

Location at Stanley Mosk Courthouse

 

 

      Effective immediately, the location for outdoor news conferences at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse has been changed—a result of incorporation of the former site at the Grand Avenue entrance to the courthouse into the construction zone for the new Civic Park.

       Until further notice, news conferences and interview opportunities will be on the fountain plaza at the northwest corner of First and Hill Streets. While the location presents some challenges in terms of traffic noise, this plaza was the consensus choice of representatives of RTNA and Court Security.

        Street parking is not permitted at the intersection of First and Hill. Media outlets may wish to pursue parking at the privately operated structure across Hill Street from the courthouse or the privately operated surface lot across First Street, immediately west of the Red Line station.

         Please note that media vehicles may no longer park on Grand Avenue in front of the courthouse entrance doorway. This area is part of the heavy equipment and fire department access infrastructure for the park construction project, which is expected to continue until sometime in 2012. Your cooperation in finding other parking is appreciated. Violators may be cited or towed.
