$10.2 million in stimulus funds proposed for various homeless projects. (Item 1-D, cont. from 6/30)
$6.6 million proposal would fund planning/development/construction of the Pico Rivera Library. (Items 2-D, 2)
$4.8 million proposal would fund program to acquire and redevelop foreclosed properties that might otherwise become sources of abandonment/blight. (Items 3-D, 19)
Recommendation calls for spending $65,000 to assist the Florence-Firestone Chamber of Commerce develop new economic development programs to revitalize the business community in the Florence-Firestone area. (Item 4-D)
Supervisors Mark Ridley-Thomas and Michael D. Antonovich propose requiring vending machines in County facilities, other than Sheriff’s custody facilities, offer only healthy food, with report back in 60 days on extending the requirement to all County-sponsored events and procurement. (Item 3)
Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky requests review of regulatory processes to identify unnecessary or duplicative procedures that add delay and cost to solar panel installation. (Item 4)
$10,000 reward proposed for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of person(s) responsible for the murders of Robert and Barbara Callendar, whose bodies and car were recovered in Malibu Canyon on Sept. 7, 2007. (Item 5)
Ordinance would require persons and businesses receiving County contracts to certify they have no unpaid property tax bills. (Items 14, 34, cont. from 6/30)
Approval sought to allow the California Arboretum Foundation to supplement the salary of County Arboretum Executive Officer Richard Schulhof up to $52,935 annually. (Item 20)
Board asked to approve revised $9.4 million budget for design/construction of new fire station in Santa Clarita and award maximum $6.27 million contract to Novus Construction. (Item 22)
