SUPERVISOR MARK RIDLEY-THOMAS

ENCOURAGES L.A. COUNTY RESIDENTS TO UTILIZE LOCAL 'COOLING CENTERS' DURING HOT WEATHER ADVISORIES

LOS ANGELES - With temperatures climbing, reaching peaks of over 100 degrees in areas throughout Los Angeles County, the Department of Public Health issues Heat Alerts when a Heat Emergency is declared by the National Weather Service

The Los Angeles County Department of Community and Senior Services have dedicated numerous facilities as "Community Cooling Center" throughout Los Angeles County. These facilities can be used by residents to cool down, rehydrate and relax.

By dialing 2-1-1, the County's Info Line, the complete listing of cooling centers can be found.
