ANTONOVICH SIGNS STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARATION FOR STORMS IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY

LOS ANGELES COUNTY – In preparation for potential damages associated with the current storms, Mayor Michael D. Antonovich signed a proclamation declaring a State of Emergency for Los Angeles County.  This action activates an assessment team from the State to evaluate the potential damage to infrastructure followed by additional financial support and other resources from the state and federal governments, if necessary.

“We are working with our County departments, the town councils, city councils and residents in our unincorporated areas to ensure a coordinated response for impacted areas,” said Antonovich.

The Board of Supervisors will ratify the Declaration at its next meeting on January 4, 2011.
