SAN GABRIEL BOULEVARD AND DURFEE AVENUE CLOSE
DUE TO STORM AND POSSIBLE FLOODING
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works has announced that based on the current storms conditions, it has closed San Gabriel Boulevard between Plaza Drive and Rosemead Boulevard, and Durfee Avenue between Rosemead Boulevard and Santa Anita Avenue.
This action was taken as a safety precaution as rising water behind Whittier Narrows Dam is released by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This water could impact the roads. Public Works will reopen the roads after the threat of flooding has passed.
Motorists are urged to monitor news broadcasts, or visit the CARE website at www.dpwcare.org for further road closure updates.
Residents, business owners and persons with access or functional needs may also call 2-1-1 for LA County information and referral services regarding post disaster resources that are available to those affected by the floods and debris and mud flow. The toll-free 2-1-1 number is available 24 hours a day and seven days a week. 211 LA County Services can also be accessed by visiting www.211la.org.
