Wednesday Event: L.A. COUNTY FIRST RESPONDER HEROISM LAUDED BY PLANE CRASH SURVIVOR

 

 

Don’t miss the emotional reunion of Retired Air Force Captain David Berling, as he personally thanks 21 County firefighters, and Sheriff’s deputies in the presence of their commanders, Los Angeles County Fire Chief P. Michael Freeman and Sheriff Leroy Baca, for displaying great heroism in working to save his life in April 2007, when his small plane crashed and landed upside down in a dirt field two miles short of Hawthorne Airport.  Berling, who lost both legs in the incident and is now wheelchair-bound, remains grateful to these men for pulling him free
