BARRY WILLIAMS AND BRITTANY WAGNER, MISS CALIFORNIA INTERNATIONAL 2011, JOIN THE 48th ANNUAL MARINA DEL REY HOLIDAY BOAT PARADE

MARINA DEL REY, CALIF. – Dec. 7, 2010 – Holiday Boat Parade organizers announced today that Barry Williams who played eldest son on the hit TV series The Brady Bunch, and the recently crowned Brittany Wagner, Miss California International 2011, will join the 48th Annual Holiday Boat Parade scheduled for Saturday, December 11th at 6:00 pm.

The Brady Bunch show ran in prime time from 1969-1974 and continued for decades in reruns; by the 1990’s the show and its cast had become nostalgic icons.  Williams authored a popular 1992 book about the experiences, Growing Up Brady: I Was A Teenage Greg.  He also appeared in Brady reunion movies and performed in musical theater around the U.S.  In 2001, he toured the country playing Capt. Von Trapp in a stage revival of The Sound of Music.  In later years, he made a living as a dependable icon of 1970’s pop culture, including hosting a “Totally ‘70s” music show on Sirius satellite radio.  In March of 2002, Williams appeared on Fox TV’s Celebrity Boxing in a match with Danny Bonaduce of TV’s The Partridge Family (1970-74).

Brittany Wagner will leverage her position as Miss California International 2011 to champion her cause, the Diabetes Association.  She plans to spread awareness, fundraise and be a positive advocate for the Diabetes Association.  After losing her father from complications of Diabetes, it is very passionate for her to share and educate by attending local community hospitals to inform patients and families of this critical illness and by raising money at the charity walks and fundraisers.
Brittany is a 21 year old actress living in North Hollywood and a crowd crew leader for the Los Angeles NBA Clippers.  She graduated from The New York Film Academy with an acting degree and Victor Valley College with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts.  Brittany will travel to Chicago, Illinois next July as the state delegate from California to compete for the coveted title, Miss International 2011.

The Parade theme for 2010 is “A Rock - N - Roll Christmas” following a spectacular fireworks display over the main channel of Marina del Rey at 5:55 pm.
