SPAY AND NEUTER PROGRAMS AVAILABLE TO

ANTELOPE VALLEY RESIDENTS

The County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) would like to advise Antelope Valley residents of resources available to provide for low or no cost spay and neuter surgery for their animals.  DACC has partnered with AngelDogs Foundation (www.AngelDogsFoundation.org) to spay and neuter as many animals as possible in an effort to control overpopulation.

Spaying or neutering your pet is a crucial component of being a responsible pet owner.  Spaying or neutering can ensure your pet’s health by preventing certain types of cancers and diseases.  In addition to the health benefits, spaying or neutering your pets also prevents unwanted litters that could end up in an animal shelter, further compounding overpopulation.

There are two spay and neuter programs available to residents of the unincorporated areas of the Antelope Valley:

1.)   Los Angeles County Voucher Program for Dogs- Residents of the Antelope Valley with proof of residency in the unincorporated areas and verifiable low income with public assistance as well as senior citizens (age 60+) are eligible for this program.

Antelope Valley residents must have proof of residency in the unincorporated areas of the Antelope Valley, which include but are not limited to Littlerock, Pearblossom, Llano, Juniper Hills, Valyermo, Lake Los Angeles, Wilsona Gardens, Antelope Acres, Green Valley, Elizabeth Lake, Lake Hughes, Leona Valley, and Acton.

For more information about this program, contact the DACC Spay and Neuter Department at (562) 256-7104 or contact AngelDog Foundation at (888) 504-SPAY (7729).

2.)   Los Angeles County Antelope Valley Coupon Program- Made possible by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, this program offers a discount for the spay/neuter of dogs and cats belonging to pet owners in the unincorporated communities of the Antelope Valley.  This program provides a discount of $25 per pet, for up to three pets per household.  Proof of residency in unincorporated area of Antelope Valley required. This program is exclusive to the AngelDogs Foundation mobile clinic only.

For more information about this program, contact AngelDogs Foundation.

For dog owners who qualify for both programs, AngelDogs will combine both discounts, offering a $75 discount. This leaves a $40 co-payment, which covers the cost of spay or neuter surgery, a rabies vaccine, AVID microchip with lifetime registration, and take-home pain medication.

DACC encourages all eligible pet owners in the Antelope Valley to take advantage of one (or both) of these programs.  For more information about spaying and neutering your pet, visit our website at www.animalcare.lacounty.gov.
