Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley will distribute holiday gifts to victims of crime on Friday, Dec. 17, as part of the District Attorney's 26th Annual Holiday Giving Drive.
The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the District Attorney's 18th floor conference room, Foltz Criminal Justice Center, 210 West Temple St., Los Angeles.
Gift recipients attending the news conference include the family of a 30-year-old Paramount mother who was shot and killed, and a Lancaster family whose father was stabbed and seriously injured after he confronted a graffiti vandal. The suspects in each case were captured and convicted.
The District Attorney's Office will provide gifts to nearly 200 families who were victims of crimes. Families are nominated by members of the District Attorney's staff. D.A. investigators deliver the gifts to homes throughout Los Angeles County.
