COMMUNITY EVENT HONORING MEN AND WOMEN IN LAW ENFORCEMENT, FIRE AND
THE UNITED STATES MILITARY
WHO: THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT COMMERCIAL CRIMES BUREAU, MILITARY ACTIVATION COMMITTEE AND VARIOUS SHERIFF’S UNITS; LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS; AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD, ARMY, NAVY, MARINE CORPS AND AIR FORCE.
WHAT: THE FIRST ANNUAL AMERICAN HEROES 10K AND FAMILY RUN WILL HONOR THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVE OUR COUNTRY AND COMMUNITIES. THIS EVENT WILL BENEFIT AND RAISE FUNDS FOR THE VARIOUS SUPPORT PROGRAMS PROVIDED BY THE MILITARY ACTIVATION COMMITTEE (MAC) THAT ASSIST DEPLOYED MILITARY MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES, AS WELL AS THE 999 FOR KIDS CHARITY AND CHARITABLE GIVING CAMPAIGN. THERE WILL BE VARIOUS UNIT DISPLAYS, INCLUDING HUMVEES, A SHERIFF’S HELICOPTER, MOUNTED ENFORCEMENT DETAIL, ARSON/EXPLOSIVES DETAIL ROBOT AND K-9 UNIT.
