MEDIA ADVISORY Teenage Foster Girls Get Makeovers for "Prom Prep 101" Event on May 15th Faith-based volunteers make prom dream a reality for at-risk teenage girls | |||
What: | Volunteers from various faith-based organizations and businesses come together to help make wonderful PROM memories for 60 teenage girls under the supervision of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Each girl will receive a makeover with before and after photos, and donated dresses, purses, make-up session, jewelry and shoes that have been donated by the many faith-based organizations involved. For the 11th consecutive year, teenage girls will be "prepped" for their prom by a variety of faith-based volunteers. All girls in attendance will be served a light dinner and receive a long stem rose before walking down the red carpet at a reception in their honor. | ||
