MEDIA ADVISORY     Second Annual Faith Based Family Fun Day at Long Beach City College on Saturday, May 15th
What:		As part of Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) effort to reach out to its communities, the South County DCFS office will partner with local churches and agencies to promote improved relationships and resources within our community.    Residents of Long Beach and surrounding cities are invited to participate in a fun-filled festive community celebration for children and families. Approximately 50 churches, local businesses and agencies will offer free food, games, face painting and entertainment to families.  Several community leaders will be recognized for their outstanding leadership. The event provides our community an avenue to interact with local leaders to develop a network of support.  Participants can visit with several booths to learn how they can access community resources, especially during times of need in an effort to prevent child abuse and neglect.   Community members are invited to learn more about how they can support abused and neglected children by becoming mentors, foster parents, or adoptive parents by visiting booths with DCFS representatives.
