SHORE FISHING OFFERED AT THE

NEW DOCKWEILER YOUTH CENTER

 

 

            MARINA DEL REY, CALIF. – April 30, 2010 - The Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors is offering introduction to shore fishing classes from Dockweiler State Beach at the new Dockweiler Youth Center, located at 12505 Vista del Mar, Los Angeles.   

            Fishing poles and bait will be provided at no cost.  Anglers typically catch surfperch, croaker, corbina, halibut and leopard shark.  All ages are welcome; however, youth under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. 

Participants over 16 years of age must present a valid California fishing license to participate and can find fishing license information by visiting the website calicensetofish.com for a listing of local retailers selling fishing licenses. 

2010 Shore Fishing Program dates are:  May 9; Sunday, May 16 and Sunday, May 23 from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.  Sessions are limited to 10 participants.
