    7285 Quill Drive

Downey, CA 90242 (Thomas Guide Page 705 G-6)

The Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall OPEN HOUSE will provide a unique inside look into the California Juvenile Justice system. The event will feature tours of the facility (i.e. court room, living quarters, classrooms, recreation, etc), and a Probation Department Expo featuring information on our Mobil Gang Task Force; electronic monitoring demonstrations; artwork and school projects by the minors, as well as “meet-and-greets” with Probation Department staff.  Information booths from several partner County agencies including Department of Mental Health, Department of Children and Family Services, L.A. County Office of Education and several faith and community-based organizations will provide details of their specific programs and how their partnerships with the Probation Department help improve the lives of minors in our custody.

The Los Angeles County Probation Department is the largest and oldest probation services agency in the nation.  Out of the approximately 20,000 juveniles currently on probation in Los Angeles County, close to 3,000 juveniles are incarcerated in 20 juvenile detention facilities throughout the County—three are juvenile halls: Los Padrinos; Central Juvenile Hall (Los Angeles); Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Hall (Sylmar).

PLEASE NOTE: Guests should wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes as there will be a lot of walking. No incarcerated minors will be accessible or participating in the Open House.
