Saturday event: Sheriff's Department -Supervisor Michael Antonovich team up for first "Community Cleanup and Paint Out Event" in the North County

The Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Parks Bureau in partnership with Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, and the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department will hold the first “Community Cleanup and Paint Out Event.”

The event will be held this Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 9:00 a.m., where volunteers from Littlerock High School, the Youth Athletic League, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Explorers and others from the surrounding areas will cleanup areas ravaged by illegal dumping and graffiti.  Some of the areas hardest hit by these crimes are Wildlife Sanctuaries that are remote and easy targets for illegal dumpers.

Businesses in the community such as Waste Management of Antelope Valley are assisting by donating dumpsters to collect the trash and the Friends of Jackie Robinson Park are providing lunch for the volunteers to make this truly a Community Event.

The volunteers will assemble at Jackie Robinson Park, 8773 East Avenue R, Littlerock, CA, 93543, where they will receive words of encouragement and thanks for their service from members of the various agencies in charge of the event.

For additional information regarding this event, please contact Deputy Johnie Jones, at (310) 499-8084.
