SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE AT THE WEST VALLEY FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL

DCFS and St. Stephen Presbyterian Church promote healthy families

What:

DCFS is partnering with St. Stephen Presbyterian Church with 90 exhibitors providing useful information to families.  DCFS will have representatives from Kinship Care and the Heart Gallery, a traveling photo exhibit created to find adoptive families for children in foster care. Many health and fitness organizations, including the American Heart Association, will be on hand to discuss cardiac health, Alzheimer's Disease with free health screenings. CSUN's nationally recognized School of Nutrition, Master Chef and "What's in Your Lunchbox?" will be focusing on nutrition for youth. Crafts, clowns, face painting, live animals, an Insect Zoo from the Natural History Museum and miniature horses will keep the kids entertained. Animal lovers can interact with guide therapy dogs that enable people with limitations to live independently.  A pet rescue and adoption service will be onsite.  Youth can challenge themselves on a climbing wall and in the jousting ring. Tracing your family tree will undoubtedly be one of many popular booths. If you're shopping for groceries, check out the Farmer's Market. For the more artistically inclined, visit the numerous craft vendors. A special tribute to veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars is planned for 11 AM.  For more information call 818-360-7460.
