OUTSTANDING HUMAN RELATIONS WORK ON OCTOBER 12

 

2010 John Anson Ford Human Relations Awards Go to KC Porter and Five Diverse Organizations

 

 

WHAT:                                  Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the County of Los Angeles Commission on Human                                                                 Relations (the Commission) John Anson Ford (JAF) Human Relations Award presentations                                                    to recognize organizations and individuals who have excelled in work promoting positive intergroup                                        relations and preventing hate violence.

 

WHO:                                    L.A. County Board of Supervisors will present the Commission’s John Anson Ford Human Relations                                                                                 Awards: K.C. Porter, Grammy Award winner to receive the County-wide Courage Award. Supervisorial                                                    District Awards will be presented to Martha Chono-Helsley for REACH LA;  Lynn Manning and                                                                                             Guillermo Aviles-Rodriguez for Watts Village Theater Company; Roger Coggan for The Los Angeles Gay &                                                            Lesbian Center’s Legal Services Department; Mike Herrera for Boys and Girls Club of the South Bay;                                                                        and Evelyn Serrano for the Valle Del Oro Neighborhood Committee and NOMAD LAB.
